They that wait upon the Lord……….Isaiah 40:31

On October 28, 1973, very proud parents Reverend Jeffrey L. Garth Sr. and Ivory P. Garth welcomed Pastor Garth and his twin brother into existence. He is the eleventh of twelve children.

Prior to accepting the call to Pastor The Greater Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor Garth exhibited pride in being a member of High Mountain Missionary Baptist church for more than thirty years.

At the age of 12, he realized that God had something special in s
tore for his life. As a teenager Pastor Garth found joy and excitement in teaching Sunday school and Singing in the choir. He’s worked diligently in doing the work of God and has worked in several capacities within the church; department superintendent, finance secretary/director, Vacation Bible School Director, youth advisor and Sunday school teacher just to name a few.

Prior to acknowledging God’s call to preach, as a young layman, he was given the opportunity to speak at various churches throughout the USA.

Pastor Garth is a strong believer that the church should be an active part of the community in which it resides. Therefore, he strives to incorporate a community structure within the Church. Pastor Garth is also an active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity where he shares a brotherhood with like-minded men seeking to make a difference in their perspective communities.

Pastor Garth attended Illinois State University, majoring in criminal justice. After 2 years of attending,

he had begun to deviate from the plan which God clearly had for his life. Therefore, under the direction

of the Spirit of God, he removed himself from ISU. He had no idea that this would represent a turning point in life. Subsequently, as an adult Pastor Garth went back to college and obtained a Bachelor's in Technical Management (Summa Cum Laude) an MBA with a project management concentration an M.Div, and most recently a Doctorate In Theology.

God has blessed Pastor Garth with a loving wife (First Lady LaTrina Garth) and three wonderful children (Justin, Tia, and Dylan).

Since preaching God’s word he has been blessed to share his message in a multitude of places both, locally and nationally.

“I don’t consider preaching the gospel as an elevated calling, but a call of servitude because the position seeks the man, the man does not seek the position“.
